Short answer: the blocked amount is unchanged at €11,904 a year (€992 a month, in force since September 2024). New this year: Indian master's applicants in engineering, commerce and business need the dMAT from the summer semester 2027 intake, and TCS on self-funded education transfers from India fell to 2% above ₹10 lakh from 1 April 2026.

What to watch next

  • Blocked amount: it follows the student grant (BAföG) rate. A change is announced by the Federal Foreign Office and the providers before it applies.
  • Health insurance: contributions and extra contributions change every 1 January; your insurer writes to you.
